The List  (not rejected)  By:  Justin Boggan

From time-to-time a rejected score gets leaked out unofficially.  What ever the source, at least we get to hear it.  This section catalogues all known ones, so if you see something missing from here, please inform me.  Also, please make me a copy.  And if you got it on reels or some source you can't copy, don't worry -- I know people who can get that tranfered for you.
It's good for us, but studios don't exactly like it, but hey -- if they had given the rights to FSM or Varese, or somebody, they wouldn't have this problem, would they?

I would also like to point out the problem of bootleg selling.  A few times each month sellers offer on places, like eBay, "rare Japanese edition" that is "not a cd-r but a factory pressed cd!"; this is of course, false.  If the music was not licensed from the copyright holder, then it's illegal and other countries laws on pressing CDs of bootlegs are loose or non-existant.  And to top that all off, companies make CDs which are as silver colored as commercially pressed CDs; art work design programs where users can make ones equal to or superior to official CD art, labeling machines which can print just like CDs you own, and the most troubling -- shrink wrappers, so they can take a picture and you think if it's shrink wrapped, then it must be real, but it's not.  I knew a guy who had one and those and shrink wrapped CD-Rs on eBay.  Bottom line: don't buy these things, it only encourages them to keep doing it.  If you really need a certain bootleg that bad, there are forums where you can ask, but you need not pay for any bootleg.

"...at some point I used real strings.  So with this real strings you are talking about a lot of people, therefore the re-use fee became too much for anyone. There was a lot of music in that movie, and some place there's an album already to go, but someone has to pay..."

  13. 1:31
    TRT:  23:23

"(slightly reworded) Goldsmith's score seems to use the exact same spotting as Lambro does.  Lambro's isn't bad -- it's just not "iconic" like Goldsmith's score.  Sax instead of trumpet.  Very strange but effective main title, and some interesting cues throughout.  What Goldsmith is talking about is the final cue -- where Lambro really does "go Chinese" in the film's final Chinatown sequence.  It's odd, and it's certainly an approach, but Goldsmith's score is one of his greats and the film would not work as well without it.  That said, Lambros' is interesting and hardly a disaster.  I actually put on the DVD, turned off the sound, and managed to synch up a good deal of the score to the images -- it's really interesting."
Special thanks to you know how you are.

Longer version?:
You may have seen another version that has three additional tracks.  It's a fake!  Here at the reasons as posted by moviemusic.com member: CF8:
"NEWSFLASH:

To all those who only have the "short" version:  Fear not!!
After taking a very close look at the three additional tracks it turns out they are ALL combinations of other tracks.  So there's nothing new here, it's just a scam!

The 6:43 track is actually Track 04 (minus the last 50 secs)+01+03
The 5:57 track is 15+09+16
The 6:27 track is 13+02+11"
